What we do

Wellness at work

But maybe not actually in work....you know what we mean!

Getting out of the ‘office’ for the day will allow your mind to more easily focus elsewhere.

We know it's not always that easy to take a full day 'away'. Enough space so no one accidentally kicks Gary from accounts in the {insert selected body part here} is all you need.

We provide the rest.

The Specifics

What will the day look like?

Utilising your directives, training objectives or consultancy recommendations we construct a programme to meet your business and more importantly your teams' needs.

We can deliver mobility and stretching techniques tailored towards your physical working environment. Breathwork awareness and practices to build mental resilience. Mindfulness and facilitation for self-awareness and team cohesion. A key note speaker relevant to the aim, and discussions or workshops around language, confidence, assertion and leadership... the list goes on and on.

Maybe you're an employee who's been tasked to put together a Health and Wellbeing day? Let us sort it all out for you.

If you want to invest in a happy, healthier and more engaged workforce then you've come to the right people.

Put simply; pick a time, pick a place, discuss your training objectives and Karma Llama will do the rest.

 Delivery

Through a combination of Neurolinguistic Programming techniques, yoga, breathing techniques and mindfulness, we give your workforce a taster of how they can harness their potential and the tools to combat stressors. This will give them the ability to process and respond rather than react; a skill that will permeate through all areas of their lives.

With inspirational and experienced key note speakers, we can also provide first hand perspective on stress and resilience within high performing teams.

By finding what works for each individual we hope they will then continue their learning and progression outside of the work environment.

Don't we ALL want to be happier and healthier!

Neuro...thingy whaty?

Neurolinguistic Programming, or NLP.

You may have heard the mantra;

"Your beliefs become your thoughts,

your thoughts become your words,

your words become your actions,

your actions become your habits,

your habits become your character,

your character becomes your destiny"

NLP is about the internal representation of experience and how people communicate with themselves as well as others.

NLP comprises models, techniques and strategies to help us understand how the language we use influences the way we think and the results we get!

An NLP Practitioner is someone trained in NLP to help people change their thoughts, behaviours, and communication for personal growth. They use techniques to improve confidence, overcome fears, and reframe negative beliefs, guiding individuals toward success in life, work, and relationships.

The science is in!

Your brain naturally creates key chemicals, many of which pharmaceutical companies synthesise in labs. Yoga stimulates changes in your biochemistry, helping improve your mood, sleep, mental and overall health. Based on an expanding field of modern research, yoga shows promise as both preventative and an adjunct care for many health conditions (those ancient texts really had something going for themselves).

Studies have shown that Yoga;

Increases brain Alpha wave activity. Alpha waves are associated with relaxation and peace.

Reduces Adrenaline. A decrease in adrenaline (epinephrine) and the neurotransmitter norepinephrine, means fewer stress hormones.

Increases GABA. Gamma-aminobutyric acid counteracts symptoms of anxiety and distress, leading to more relaxation and a better mood.

Increases BDNF. Brain-derived neurotropic factor is a protein responsible for neuron health and neuroplasticity, increased BDNF may ease chronic pain and depression.

Increases Serotonin. Serotonin helps regulate your mood. Low levels of unstable serotonin are associated with depression.

Reduces Cortisol. Cortisol is a stress hormone. When your baseline increases and levels are too high for too long, it can lead to inflammation and weight gain.

Regulates Dopamine. Dopamine acts as your body’s reward system and dysfunction is associated with addiction.

Pranayama

Pranayama is a yogic breathing technique. The word pranayama combines ‘prana’ and ‘ayama.' Prana means ‘vital energy’ or ‘life force.' 'Ayama’ is defined as ‘extension’ or ‘expansion.' So, the meaning of pranayama is ‘extension or expansion of the dimension of prana.'

There is continued and increasing scientific evidence demonstrating Pranayama's physiological and psychological benefits.

These include;

Improved lung function. Strengthening cardiorespiratory coupling.

Stress reduction. Modulating ventricular performance by enhancing baroreflex sensitivity, decreasing sympathetic activity and increasing parasympathetic activity helping to stablise blood pressure.

Enhanced brain activity. Having a unique effect on the brain stem cardiorespiratory centre.
